Meet Austin Klar

For many, living and working in San Francisco is the ultimate dream. But with some of the most expensive real estate prices in the country, housing can often feel out of reach. Austin’s mission is to find creative solutions to match buyers and sellers in the Bay Area. 

Originally from Orange County, Austin has lived and worked in San Francisco for over a decade. Prior to becoming a realtor, Austin graduated from Columbia Law School in New York and was a commercial litigator at a big law firm in downtown San Francisco. The most rewarding cases he worked on were pro bono cases, representing vulnerable or under-privileged clients in important legal matters, from obtaining lawful residence status in the United States for a single mother and her son attempting to escape persecution in their home country and victims of domestic abuse, to death-row inmates wrongfully convicted and imprisoned in violation of their constitutional rights. Austin also represented Fortune 500 companies in some of the largest cases in history in courts across the country. 

Seeking new ways to improve people’s lives and help them fulfill their dreams, Austin left his law firm and pursued a career in real estate. With his extensive litigation background, his love for residential architecture, and his desire to help others, Austin knew a career in real estate would be a perfect blend of his passions and unique skill sets. Austin remains a licensed attorney and uses his expertise in innovative ways to better serve his clients. 

Not only is Austin a real estate agent, but he also is a founding partner of a private equity fund dedicated to developing single-family homes in the Bay Area. Austin proudly serves as the agent for the fund in the acquisition and sale of the fund's development properties, and continues to work with buyers and sellers throughout the Bay Area, principally in San Francisco and Marin County. 

Beyond his work in real estate, Austin is an avid sports fan, car and watch aficionado, and cook. Nothing makes him happier than cooking delicious food for family and friends. One of his favorite aspects of working from home is having the privilege to cook elaborate meals he can tend to throughout the day between calls and meetings. Football, basketball, tennis, and golf are his favorite sports. In his spare time, he plays golf and tennis, visits art galleries, and explores all the tremendous food and events the Bay Area has to offer. He currently resides in Pacific Heights in a quintessential 1860s Victorian house with his long-term partner and is still in awe of the home’s original architecture.
